Youth Speak Forum Powered By AIESEC - Strathmore University

On Friday 12 January 2018 I had the pleasure of engaging with Strathmore University students at Youth Speak powered by AIESEC to understand the hopes and challenges surrounding various issues which involve young people. YouthSpeak Forum is a “no-barriers” conference that enables any young person and stakeholder to participate in issues relevant to their society.

In September 2015, the United Nations adopted the new global agenda for sustainable development and representatives of AIESEC International were in attendance. The UN members states, governments, business, experts and leaders committed to address 17 global goals for the next 15 years for a better world.

To make this world a reality, we need to engage the young people. The way the world will be shaped by 2030 depends on our youth. We need to understand what young people around the world care about, what they are passionate about and how they would like to be engaged over issues that matter to them.

A collective youth voice needs to get to decision makers and influencers – governments, business, universities, media, NGOs, thought leaders, experts and other youth organizations.

How can we engage Millennials to take action? Inspire, Engage, Act. I was humbled to share my entrepreneurship journey during the forum to inspire the students, engage with them and plant a seed of action.

Thank you Strathmore University.

Thank you AIESEC.
